Your Lawn Care Guide
Proper lawn care is about more than just appearance — it’s the key to keeping your grass healthy, durable, and long-lasting. A well-cared-for lawn develops deep roots, resists weeds, and stands up to heavy use. Consistent watering, mowing, and fertilizing not only protect the investment you’ve made in hydroseeding, but also create a green space you can enjoy for years to come. With the right care, your lawn becomes stronger, healthier, and more resilient against weather and wear.

1. Watering your Lawn
-
Begin watering the day after the hydroseeding is applied.
-
Keep the top layer of soil consistently moist, but not soggy.
-
Water lightly 2–4 times per day for the first 2–3 weeks, depending on weather.
-
Each watering session should last about 10–20 minutes, or until the top 1/4 inch of soil is damp.
-
-
As grass begins to grow, reduce watering frequency but increase depth — for example, water once daily for 20–30 minutes instead of several shorter sessions.
-

* Pro Tip: If water is pooling or running off, you’re watering too long. If the soil surface dries out or forms cracks, water longer.
2. Limiting Traffic
-
Avoid walking, playing, or driving equipment on the seeded area.
-
Foot traffic can damage tender seedlings before roots are established.
-
Keep pets and children off the lawn until mowing is possible.
3. First Mowing
-
Mow for the first time when the grass reaches 3–4 inches tall.
-
Make sure the soil is firm and dry to prevent ruts.
-
Use sharp mower blades and cut no more than 1/3 of the grass height.
4. Fertizling the Lawn
-
Your lawn will need a starter fertilizer about 4–6 weeks after hydroseeding.
-
Choose a fertilizer high in nitrogen to encourage strong growth.
-
Repeat feedings every 6–8 weeks during the growing season, or follow the fertilizer plan we recommend.
5. Ongoing Care
-
Water deeply 2–3 times per week once the lawn is established.
-
Mow regularly, keeping grass around 3 inches to promote root health.
-
Apply seasonal fertilizer and weed control as needed.
-
Overseed thin spots in the fall or spring to maintain a thick, even lawn.
-
We offer mulch and seed mix to be purchase following years
-
Remember ....
A hydroseeded lawn takes time, patience, and consistent care, but with the right steps, you’ll enjoy a lush, durable lawn for years to come.
